Utilizing Multi-Media |

Details: |
- Prepare a CD with all PowerPoint and Word files on it and mail it to the students. This saves them time trying to download large files.
- Use Impatica so that you can add voice over to your Power Point slides. Some students are auditory learners and this helps them.
- I use the PowerPoint Slides/Impatica in the chat room. I have students start the presentation, and then they return to the chat room when they reach the slide that says "Return to Chat Room". We can then discuss the material presented upto this point and go over any questions they have so far. They then continue in the slide presentation till they reach the next "Return to Chat Room" que. This works well with mathematics because with the Impatica and PowerPoint I can use equations and mathematical symbols and explain them verbally to them step by step. I give them some problems to try on their own in each section that we then go over in the chat room.
- Prepare video clips of the material using a digital camera and put these on a CD to send to your students. This has been a tremendous help when dealing with how to use the graphing calculator. They can actually see the calculator and what buttons to push. They can watch it over and over again also.
