| During your junior field experience you
will be observing and teaching children between the ages of three and five as
well as observing their teacher and the teacher's aide. You will be required to keep a journal
of your observations and teaching activities during this eight week period.
Your journal must have these elements:
- Identify the Journal (Your name should be represented at the
beginning of the journal)
- School
- Class
- Cooperating Teacher
Each entry must also include the date. A sample entry might read:

Today was my first day in the preschool
class at The Family Learning Center.
There are 4 girls and 8 boys in this class. Eight of the students are on IEPs and
four of them are typically
developing. This was a very busy
day. The teacher never sat
down. The children seemed to be
very needy. I had a good day, but
wonder if I will really be able to teach this age level. I think I am looking forward to
tomorrow.
This journal will be required in your final
portfolio presentation at the end of the semester, at which time we will meet to
review the elements of your portfolio.
