Chapter 6

Compressing & Uploading Files

Instructors using an older version of Impatica should update to the newest version to reduce the need to zip the necessary files before adding them to Blackboard. Additionally, instructors who wish to add multiple files at once (i.e. a folder containing homework handouts) may benefit from uploading zipped files.

UF Online

Before continuing, please be sure your computer has zip compression software. For information on how to obtain this software, please contact ITS.

Online Exercise

Zipping Files:

  • From your desktop, double-click on the "My Computer" icon and find the folder (directory) containing the Impatica file or other file formats saved on your hard drive.
  • Right click on the folder.
  • Select the option to compress/zip the folder. Be sure the file name ends with .zip

You have now compressed the files and the "zip" file has been created in the same location as the directory where your HTML files were stored.

Zip File Location

The next step is to upload this compressed file into Blackboard.
