Guidelines for Teaching an Online Course

Under the direction of Academic Technology Services, the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center has created guidelines for teaching an online course. The purpose of these guidelines is to help UF faculty members improve their online teaching experience and to encourage effective engagement of students in the online learning environment. The guidelines may be implemented while creating and maintaining Blackboard courses.

These guidelines are divided into ten categories. We have included guidelines relevant to the information presented in this manual. However, the portions included in the manual should only serve as an outline. To get the most out of the guidelines, please refer to:
